Perimeter Two Lobby Expansion
Key Goals and Challenges
The primary challenge was creating a fresh, updated space adjacent to the existing 10+-year-old lobby without it feeling like an afterthought. This was solved by incorporating design elements that bridged the old and new spaces. New tenant entries were designed with wood surrounds and custom metal pulls to match the existing lobby. Lighter wood tones from the lobby were integrated into the new space through acoustical ceiling clouds and baffles.
Existing stone floor tile was reused to create a seamless transition between spaces, while the curved design of the lobby’s flooring and ceiling was mimicked in the expanded space, reinforcing visual cohesion.
Unique Features
To enhance the space further, Arktura SoundStar hexagon ceiling panels were incorporated into the open ceiling, providing sound absorption and a cohesive pop of color that ties in with the existing light wood tones from the lobby. A curved insert of Bentley walk-off carpet was used at the rear entry, offering a functional yet stylish transition from the exterior patio to the interior.
As a focal point, a striking Vibia Plus Minus pendant light grouping was installed, drawing the eye from the building’s entrance to the newly designed back space, creating a sense of intrigue and connection throughout the building.
The restrooms, previously absorbed within the tenant suite, were opened to the common building hallway and refreshed with modern wallcoverings, backlit mirrors, and LED lighting.
This project’s transformation balances functionality, connectivity, and comfort, elevating the tenant experience while maintaining design continuity.
