Perimeter One Lobby Expansion
Completed in June 2025, the five-story office building common area expansion at 3005 Carrington Mill Blvd in Perimeter Park transforms the first-floor experience into a vibrant, tenant-focused amenity destination. The expanded common area enhances connectivity and usability, introducing a welcoming lounge with a break and coffee bar that offers a relaxed, informal counterpoint to the existing lobby.
The exterior patio was also reimagined as a functional outdoor retreat, featuring lush landscaping, integrated tree planters, sunshades, and modern furnishings that support both work and social interaction. Together, the interior and exterior amenities provide flexible spaces for informal meetings, focused work, and meaningful social connection throughout the day.
A key challenge was creating a fresh, contemporary space that seamlessly integrated with the existing lobby and common area finishes. Rather than competing with the original architecture, the design layers modern elements to enhance and extend the lobby’s character. This approach is reinforced through cohesive material selections and by emphasizing the established rhythm of columns and soffits that carry through the length of the common area.
Linear Arktura ceiling panels paired with modern lighting play a central role in this transition. The panels provide acoustic performance while adding visual depth against the black open ceiling. Carefully selected materials, fixtures, and furnishings demonstrate how a traditional lobby can be modernized without losing continuity or character.
Because the amenity space is located at the end of the common corridor, clear visual cues were essential. A series of Z-bar pendants—designed to flow like a flock of birds—guides tenants from the front lobby, through the elevator lobby, into the new lounge, and outward to the exterior amenity space.
